Livnot’s Community Service Program recently began a partnership with an Ethiopian leadership project called Hineni, which helps young and new immigrants cope with educational difficulties and social challenges in eight development towns throughout Israel.
The goals of the partnership are:
  • To make necessary repairs to homes, turning them into a functioning, healthy and safe environment
  • Hire a social worker to follow up with each family, providing direction and assistance for children, teenagers, soldiers, parents who need training and employment, and the elderly.
Livnot and Hineni have proposed a united plan of action to the UJA Federation of NY, and several other organizations, to work jointly in cities with high concentrations of poor Ethiopian families. For more information, or to get involved, contact Gabi Nachmani, Director of Community Service.
